Transformation
What begins as a passionate love story in modern Galway, steadily becomes something darker. As Donnacha falls passionately in love with Eimir, so too a sense of wrongness in his life increases, growing steadily stronger and closer to the two lovers. The young man finds himself troubled by dreams, discorporate voices and other strange incidents. Finally the supernatural impacts directly on his reality; in a way that allows no room for denial or ambiguity. A terrible creature from Irish folklore threatens Donnacha and all those close to him. Suitable for adults.
"A dark, supernatural story that manages to make you cry, laugh and scare you to bits" - Galway City Tribune.
"Rising tension leading to a truly terrifying ending" - Our Books Reviews
" The contrast of the gentle romance and horror powers the story in a very visceral way." - Icy Sedgwick in Goodreads

Galway Bay Folk Tales
published by The History Press Ireland.
As well as local folk tales, myths and urban legends I weave in history, archaeology, theories on early settlements in Ireland, as well as philosophy, astro-physics and my own imagination. The book is also filled with wonderful illustrations by the artist Marina Wild.
The result is a fast paced book filled with magic and adventures, dark tales and wonders covering a period of time from the birth of the universe right up to post-Celtic Tiger Ireland. My hope is that the book will prove that the stories of the west are as relevant, inspiring and powerful today as they were when first told. Suitable for teenagers and above.
‘The stores are wide ranging and often retold in his distinct humorous and lively style… a brilliant starting point.’ - Facts & Fiction magazine.
'Rab's stories are a truly memorable delight!' - Amazon customer review by Katelyn McCarney
"myth and legend are re-told with a freshness and vitality […]words fairly dance off the page with wit and humour" - Nikki McDonagh in Goodreads
'skillful blending of the old and the new and the timeless' - Richard Sutton in Goodreads
Available in all good bookshops, signed copies can be bought at my show, and it can also be purchased online
